Synopsis
Specially written for the BBC, this radio play by Peter Terson is a working class take on Three Men In a Boat. It is set in Stratford-Upon-Avon, with the lads off on a barge to soak up some culture via the canal, and ending up in it.

Second part of a drama trilogy written by Peter Terson about  the picaresque adventures of three Derbyshire miners - Art, Ern and Abe. The other two parts The Fishing Party and Three for the Fancy were transmitted on 1/6/1972 and 21/3/1974 respectively.
History
A successor to the 1960s British television anthology drama series The Wednesday Play, the hugely popular Play for Today series had a 14-year run from 1970 to 1984 on BBC1. During this time about 300 original plays were screened on British television.
