Reviews
For producer Michael Barry "the intimacy of television allows of a much quicker pace in speech. That, together with the fact that we can go right through Romeo and Juliet without any interruption for scene changes, means that we can give it as seems to have been performed originally - a continuous performance from beginning to end" (qtd. in Radio Times, 3 October 1947, p. 33).
