Notes

History
A repeat of Gielgud’s three-hour production of King Lear was broadcast two days later (20.11.1994) at 7pm.
Reviews
'Pontac’s verse is bliss. It combines bits of genuine Swan with glorious moorhens. ... Not since the halycon days of Sue Limb’s Wordsmiths of Gorsemere have we heard such skilful parody’ (Sue Gaisford, ‘Radio: The Maharajah and the Macaroni’, The Times, 20 November 1994, p.26).
