- Between acts 2 and 3 a 25 minute programme GOUNOD’S SHAKESPEARE was broadcast in which David Charlton ‘searches for the voices of Romeo and Juliet in 19th century Paris’. Between acts 3 and 4 THE MURDERING WORD was broadcast (20 minutes) in which Professor Kieran Ryan explored the role of language in Romeo and Juliet.
