First produced in Florence in 1817, Verdi’s Macbeth had its British premiere at Glyndebourne in May 1938.
History
The live broadcast of Act 2 was transmitted from BBC Regional at 8 p.m. The third and fourth Act were broadcast in the National programme at 10 and 10.30 p.m. respectively.
