- Synopsis
- Television programme in honour of the fiftieth birthday of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). In a talk hosted by William Sylvester, Robert Atkins, Violet Farebrother, Iris Hoey, and Athene Seyler recall the early days of RADA. Following an introduction by Sir Kenneth Barnes, excerpts from Othello, Pygmalion, The Lady’s Not Burning, and Shall We Join the Ladies are relayed from the Vanbrugh Theatre, Gower Street, London. With a prologue and epilogue specially written by Sir Alan Heubert. The excerpt from Othello stars Barbara Jefford as Desdemona and Anthony Quayle as Othello.
