Reviews
Bock, Judith ‘Measure for Measure: The Duke and Isabella on Stage at the RSC, 1950-1987.' Dissertation Abstracts International 51 (1990-91): 1048A (Colorado). Following a short stage history of Measure for Measure (1604-1941), analyses the major post-World War II productions by the Royal Shakespeare Company, including those by Peter Brook (1950), Anthony Quayle (1956), John Barton (1970), and Adrian Noble. Concludes by summarising ‘how conceptions of the play and its major characters have shifted in post-war productions at the RSC’. [cited in World Shakespeare Bibliography].
