Convento, O
- Alternative title
- Convent
- Synopsis
- Feature film. An eccentric American professor(Malkovich) comes with his beautiful wife Helen (Deneuve) to an ancient Portuguese convent in Arrabida to find missing documents which would further his radical theory that Shakespeare was born in Spain and of Jewish-Spanish descent. The film was much criticised for its pretentiousness, reviewers in general agreement that the existentialist philosophies which the director put forward do not film well.
