- The Shakespeare Centre also holds a 30min videotape recorded 29 June 1999 in which director Gregory Doran and designer Stephen Brimson Lewis discuss and explain the set model.
- General
- The costuming has been described as a gaudy parody of Jacobean dress. Doran made full use of the ‘Such Sweet Thunder’ score which Duke Ellington wrote to commission for the 1957 Stratford (Ontario) Shakespeare Festival.
- History
- The press night was postponed from 11 August to 24 August after Alan Bates withdrew from playing the title role because of ill health.
