Notes

General
`What drove Greg [Gregory Thompson, the director] was the idea of dispossession and exile and it struck us that a good period to set the play would be the 1840s when the Enclosures Act started to hit home. Therefore the production has an early Victorian look to it.' RSC Website. This was Gregory Thompson’s first production for the RSC.
History
First performance 13 March 2003. It played in repertoire until 8 November 2003. The production played from 22 April-18 May at the Kennedy Center, Washington, DC and from 25-29 November at the Playhouse, Newcastle upon Tyne
