- Radio programme on the speaking of Shakespeare’s verse. Samantha Bond examines whether there is a ‘right way’ of speaking Shakespeare’s dramatic verse. Besides consulting Judi Dench, she interviews director Peter Hall, voice coach Cicely Berry, scholar Tiffany Stern, actor Derek Jacobi, as well as reviewer Michael Billington on how make Shakespeare ring true. The programme includes extracts of sound recordings from Henry Irving, Laurence Olivier, John Gielgud, Judi Dench and Peggy Ashcroft.
