Synopsis
Third concert in a week’s series of BBC Radio 3 ‘Afternoon Performances’ dedicated to showcasing music written for and inspired by the works of Shakespeare and other literary authors.
The Shakespeare-related items in this episode’s playlist include: William Walton’s Henry V: Suite for Chorus and Orchestra, arranged by Muir Mathieson (performed by The Durham Cathdral Consort of Singers, Durham University Choral Society, conductor: Rumon Gamba); excerpts from Berlioz Romeo and Juliet conducted by Gianandrea Noseda.

The programme is presented by Louise Fryer. The selection of concerts is played by the BBC Philharmonic.
