Every Inch a King
- Synopsis
- Anthology arts series. Documentary on Robert Stephens’ acclaimed performance as Lear in Adrian Noble’s 1993 production for the Royal Shakespeare Company. The programme follows Stephens through an entire performance, from entering the theatre to departure as he waits for the coach to take him home. There are scenes backstage and interviews with Noble and critics. Particularly memorable is Stephens shuffling towards the wings, stubbing out his cigarette, and then going on to play the Dover scene.
