- Synopsis
- Documentary on King Lear shown ahead of Richard Eyre’s production with Ian Holm transmitted later the same evening. The themes of the play are debated by actors Warren Mitchell, James Earl Jones and Kathryn Hunter and by directors Peter Brook, Nicholas Hytner and Richard Eyre. The programme also features a fairy-tale version narrated by Jones and excerpts from his own film of King Lear.
