Synopsis
Radio play written by Christopher William Hill. Ian Richardson plays Oxford academic A. L. Rowse, best known for his overly confident identification of "the Dark Lady" of Shakespeare’s sonnets. The play traces the events leading up to the publication of Rowse’s infamous biography of Shakespeare, Shakespeare the Man (1973).
