General
In this new series of schools broadcasts of Shakespeare’s plays it was decided that a 45 min. slot was more suitable than the previous 60-minute one and the timing was adopted accordingly: ‘Only the outstanding scenes will be broadcast, and these will be linked by a short explanatory narration’ (Programme and Syllabus of Transmission to Schools, op. cit.).
