Synopsis: Ballet recording. Bernd Köllinger’s modern reworking of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream for the Komische Oper Berlin is adapted for television by Heide Draexler-Just. The programme is introduced by a 13-minute panel discussion in which Köllinger, Katzer and actor Thomas Hartmann (Oberon) talk about the concept of the production. Köllinger’s ‘new Midsummer Night’s Dream’ - a contemporary tale about two pairs of mismatched wedding couples - is interspersed with fairy tale sequences that provide an allegorical frame.
