- Synopsis
- Radio programme. Themed on the subject of magic in its many shades, this episode’s ‘Word and Music’ starts with Shakespeare, the theme of the year’s Proms season. Miriam Margoyles and Nicholas Farrell read excerpts from The Tempest, Macbeth and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Ariel’s songs weave through the programme and are set to the music of Locke, Purcell and Tippett amongst others. Produced by Elizabeth Arno.
