Synopsis
Full-length radio version of the play produced by Val Gielgud. With Virginia Maskell, Norman Shelley, Carleton Hobbs and Malcolm Keen. The production uses the full Mendelssohn score as arranged by John Hollingworth, who also conducts the London Sinfonia and the Ambrosia Singers (Soloists: Eileen Poulter and Mary Thomas).

Broadcast as part of the Shakespeare Quatercentenary celebrations on BBC radio. The play was also broadcast as part of the Quatercentenary celebrations on the General Overseas Service where it was transmitted in two parts (18/10 and 25/10). Part 1: 00:30-2:00, Part 2: 00:30-1:30 GMT.
