Notes

General
Coriolanus was first performed in Bohemia at the Estates Theatre in 1857, then disappeared from the Czech repertory after the failure of Hilar’s production in 1921. This was the first time in many years that Czech audiences had seen the play which, influenced by Brecht, was performed on a bare stage.
