Synopsis
A thirteen-part television series, presented by Richard Ouzounian, on the history of the Stratford (Ontario) Shakespeare Festival. Episode 6. During Robin Phillips’ tenure while all seemed successful on the surface, there were many tensions which led to his departure. Brian Bedford discusses how he approached the role of Richard II, Phillips describes Maggie Smith’s performance in As You Like It in 1977 and Peter Ustinov and Richard Monette share their impressions of working together on King Lear.
