- Synopsis
- Last in a series of ten educational radio programmes in which various aspects of Shakespeare’s life and work are discussed by scholars and theatre practitioners with illustrative excerpts from his plays and poems.
In this episode John Gielgud performs in scenes and speeches from The Winter’s Tale and The Tempest. Dorothy Tutin and members of the 1958 Stratford Memorial Theatre Company perform in a scene from The Winter’s Tale. Bonamy Dobree speculates what might have caused Shakespeare to write the plays that seem to be unifies by the theme of ‘lost and found’. - Series
