Synopsis
Second in a series of ten educational radio programmes in which various aspects of Shakespeare’s life and work are discussed by scholars and theatre practitioners with illustrative excerpts from his plays and poems.
In this episode the speakers are Michael MacOwan, principal of London’s Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, who discusses the way the architecture of the theatres influences Shakespeare’s writing, and stage director and producer Tyrone Guthrie, who reflects on various styles of producing Shakespeare.
