History: The production was staged for television and broadcast on BBC2 on 31 December 2001 and in the US on PBS 8 October 2001 in the Exxon-Mobil Masterpiece Theatre series. The production was also videotaped by the National Theatre using a single camera on 6 November 1999. The television broadcasts and the video recording by the National Theatre are catalogued separately.
Awards: Henry Goodman won an Olivier Award for Best Actor for this performance, and Trevor Nunn won Best Director.
