The Arts This Week [12/11/1970]
- Synopsis
- As part of the Radio 3 arts programme broadcast on 12 November 1970, critic Michael Billington speaks to theatre and opera director Jonathan Miller about some of the staging difficulties for a production of Hamlet. Miller uses Freudian analysis to get to the heart of the characters and explains his views on the theme of corruption - both of the person and of the ‘rotten’ state of Denmark - that runs through the play.
