Synopsis

Live radio transmission of a concert from the Ulster Hall, Belfast, centering on Shakespeare. Takuo Yuasa conducts the Ulster Orchestra in Delius’s ‘The Walk to Paradise Garden’, an orchestral interlude from the opera A Village Romeo and Juliet, and Berlioz’s Nuits d’ete, a song cycle set to six poems by Théophile Gautier, with Elizabeth Watts as soprano soloist. Presented by Petroc Trelawny.
