- Pale Horse, The
- Synopsis
- Television mystery drama based on Agatha Christie’s novel of the same name. The story begins with Mark Easterbrook (Buchanan), a young sculptor, leaving a production of Macbeth. He stumbles across a dying priest, Father Gorman, and is later accused of murdering him by the uncompromising Inspector Lejeune. With only a list of names given to him by Father Gorman before his death, Mark, with the help of his girlfriend, Kate, sets out to prove his innocence. Their investigations lead them to an old coaching inn called The Pale Horse, the home of three modern-day witches whose occult powers include death by auto suggestion. Mark suspects there is a connection between the witches and Father Gorman’s list of names which is some kind of hit-list. Mark finally discovers the truth, but only after Kate’s life had been put at risk to prove his theory.
