- Synopsis
- Talent contest to find the best amateur dramatics company from among the UK’s c3,500 groups offering the winning troupe the chance to perform at the Lyric Theatre in London’s West End. The four remaining theatre clubs compete for a place in the final, preparing and performing scenes from King Lear at the RSC’s Courtyard Theatre in Stratford. Judges are: Miriam Margolyes, theatre producer Bill Kenwright and critic Quentin Letts. Mentors for the finalists include Harriet Walter, Roger Allam, Martin Shaw, Richard Wilson and Niamh Cusack. Narrated by Kathy Burke.
