- Radio broadcast. Donald Macleod explores the life and work of Giuseppe Verdi and introduces highlights from Otello. He also considers the composer’s final contribution to the stage, based on Shakespeare’s fictional character Falstaff, Excerpts from Otello with Placido Domingo in the title role: the Orchestra and Chorus of Bastille Opera is conducted by Myung-Whun Chung. Extracts from Falstaff with Bryn Terfel in the title role: the Berlin Radio Choir and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra is conducted by Claudio Abbado,
