Extracts from Shakespeare
- Synopsis
- Video podcast. A series of talks from an interdisciplinary event held by the St Edmund Hall Centre for the Creative Brain in Oxford on 26 November 2016. The speakers interpret the theme of ‘Shakespeare and the Brain’ in various ways, examining it from the perspective of literature scholars, neuroscientists and actors. All the talks are aimed at a non-specialist audience. In this edition
Roland Oliver (an actor and alumnus of St Edmund Hall, University of Oxford) concludes the ‘Shakespeare and the Brain’ event by reading relevant extracts from three of Shakespeare’s plays. He also discusses the extracts briefly, in the light of some of the themes raised by the earlier speakers. The extracts are: Richard II Act V, sc v; Macbeth Act II, sc i; Henry IV Part 2, Act IV, sc iii. - Series
