- This week Mike Matthews visits another village to discover the Village Life of Burghclere. It lies in the Basingstoke and Deane District of Hampshire, near the border of Hampshire and Berkshire, and is 4 miles South of Newbury in West Berkshire. Track 1- His first interview is with John that owns an Aisle House. He talks about the House’s 1,100 year history. The second interview is with Ken Kelly, headmaster of the Primary School. He talks about the school’s history. A third interview with a game-dealer, who sends game birds abroad to customer requirements. On Track 2, Mike Matthews talks with Jeffrie Robinson, the parish chairman of Stanley Memorial Chapel. He talks about the Chapel’s history. [Box 4]
