- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Fall of Sidi Barrani B.114/D. DESCRIPTION: The Allies advance across the battlefield of Nibeiwa to take Sidi Barrani. Movietone’s cameraman, Alec Tozer, sent back these first pictures despite being nearly killed when his car was blown up. The Royal Navy played its part by bombarding the town from the sea. SHOTLIST: A sand-storm rages over the desert and almost hides the troops and captured tanks, not to mention the thousands of prisoners. Alec Tozer’s damaged car with Tozer beside it. In Sidi Barrani a soldier looks at the Italian monument celebrating its capture earlier in the war. More prisoners. Lorries on the war back. Planes swoop overhead while a ship stands off the coast. Motor-cyclists read messages of congratulations from Mr Eden. Shot of General O’Connor and more prisoners.
