Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Air/Sea Rescue. DESCRIPTION: Pilots who bale out over the Channel can be very quickly picked up by the Air/Sea Rescue Service. SHOTLIST: This story shows blankets being loaded into Walrus and smoke-bombs onto Lysander, in readiness to rescue pilot, who has come down in the sea. All the gear and special equipment necessary, including dinghy are packed into the plane. A message is received at Rescue Station. The position where the pilot came down is marked on a map and the pilot leaves the ‘ops’ room, enters his plane and takes-off. (Lysander), and smoke bombs is dropped to mark position when the pilot is sighted. The plane lands on the water and the pilot is hauled aboard. On getting back to base the rescued pilot is put into an ambulance. Cuts. Note - Library shots of pilot suspended by parachute floating above the cloud.
