MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: HM Submarine, "Thunderbolt" (Late Thetis). DESCRIPTION: The sinking of the submarine "Thetis" in June 1939 was a tragedy, but the ship was salvaged. Now repaired and renamed "Thunderbolt" the submarine is on active duty. SHOTLIST: 1. Shots of HM Thunderbolt, entering the basin and coming alongside. 2. Close-up of her captain, Lt Commander Crouch, DSO and Bar. 3. Shot of officers on Thunderbolt. 4. Close-up of nameplate. 5. Shots of submarine above surfacing with sailors standing on her. Story made up with library shots of the Thetis wreck and attempts to salvage.
