Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: American Ambulances (Mr Winant). DESCRIPTION: The girls who drive the American donated ambulances are all unpaid volunteers. On their 2nd Anniversary Mr Winant and Mr Ernest Brown view a parade in Hyde Park. SHOTLIST: General views of girls cleaning cars. The girls live in billets and prepare and cook their own meals, and they feed together in a general Mess Room. Mr Winant accompanied by Mr Ernest Brown, inspect, at their second anniversary parade. Also included in this story is a shot of the Duke of Kent in company with Mr Winant. Other shots include, general view of garage, girls carrying stretcher, putting on gas clothing. Officers taking telephone call and a drive past of ambulances. Peter Whale’s Version Mr Winant, accompanied by Mr Ernest Brown, the Minister for Health, inspects units of the American Ambulances in Great Britain. Drawn-up in Hyde Park on the occasion of the second birthday.
