MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Japanese Dead. DESCRIPTION: United States Marines wiped out Japanese units defending their positions on Guadalcanal. SHOTLIST: US Marines walking about island, which is mostly jungle, looking at dead Japs. Prisoners being set to work, various shots of same. Shot of stern of US Aircraft Carrier, also shots of destroyers with Carrier in rear. Dauntless (?) flying in formation escorting Navy, of which there is an aerial shot of same. Looking over stern of destroyer at wake of ship. Admiral William Halsey conversing with naval officers (interior) in cabin.
