Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Hazards of Mediterranean Supply Lines. DESCRIPTION: The Royal Navy and the Merchant Navy are carrying out an enormous amount of work taking reinforcements and supplies to the North African ports. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Elevated shots of Oran Harbour with supply ships and various quay scenes. MS Troopship and parts of same, shows it packed with troops. Paratroops disembark. Various scenes. Churchill tank being lowered from ship, armoured lorries, etc. Fire aboard merchant ship, crew play water on flames. GS fire, pump working. French girls giving concert. Sailors watching and applauding. Ack-ack fired at planes. Angle shots of Cruisers, destroyers firing light guns at aircraft. Several explosions from sea caused by bombs. LS tanker on fire, rescue launches cross harbour to take off crew. Pan of harbour. All types of Merchant Ships. MS tanker burning. Pan up with black smoke. From burning tanker to guns firing at aircraft. Ships unloaded by natives. LS Oran coast from sea. GS submarines lying off coast, bunched together. Submarines periscope moving through water, one surfaces. Cruiser leaving, also LS of Convoy.
