Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Havoc From the Air. DESCRIPTION: Day after day Allied air attacks on Germany and occupied Europe continue. Terrific work is also being done by the US 8th Fighter Command, as pictures taken by a camera gun show, they are engaged in many air battles with the Luftwaffe. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Various aerial shots of Liberators in formations, flying above the clouds, flying through flak. Couple dozen bombs falling to earth. Aerial shots of bombs hitting target at Bourges, France. Formations of Liberators. Aerial shots of Brunswick. These pictures were shot during raids on Bourges, Brunswick, Ludwigshaven. The following is attacks made by fighters, first being on E boats, tracers hitting same, E boats zigzag to miss planes fire. Machine gunning railway trains - various. Shooting up aerodromes, also grounded planes. Plane just after taking off shot up (FW200K). Line of Me110’s in flight, one gets machine gunned. Various shots of aerial combat (blown-up) shows shooting up of FW190’s. Me110’s, Ju52, FW200K. Dornier, the last shows a FW190’s wings falling off & exploding in mid-air. Several planes explode in mid-air, their petrol igniting & falling off machines.
