Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Into Germany From Roer. DESCRIPTION: British troops have been entering village after village in Germany but the move forward has been hampered by mines. SHOTLIST: Cut story - AFU - GV of fields & tanks crossing. Several shots of artillery firing on German positions. British troops enter village, chalked on walls in several places, "Forward to Victory with the Fuehrer". Huns out of dugout, couple run along road, several brought in under escort. CU of types, one of which is either suffering from shell-shock or very much scared, the other all smiles. British troops single file march along country roads. Blizzard blowing, trees with dynamite placed in same which was meant to block the roads for our transport. Scorpion tanks blow up mines in fields & on road. Flat country, tanks cross same, artillery outside village near River Roer. Several villages were taken, shows houses collapsing. Dogs (mongrels) move up with troops in their advance. Various shots of tanks & infantry going forward.
