- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Evacuation of St Nazaire. DESCRIPTION: Before French civilians could be evacuated from German held St Nazaire the railway line had to be repaired. A truce was arranged whilst the repair took place and the French civilians eventually reached Nantes. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. French engineers repair railway line, various shots. German officer. Captain Mueller, & French Lt Homel, shake hands. Germans & the French meet at a small station. Cordemias, German soldier waves train in. Various shots of French women & children mostly in box-type coaches. German Guard being relieved by French guard. German officers & French on friendly terms, chat over cigarette. The train has come from St Nazaire. Train leaves for Nantes, elevated shots of city of Nantes, also showing Cathedral in background. French evacuees, off train, & into camera assisted by nurses to finish.
