- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Barleycorn - German Troops Back to Land. DESCRIPTION: The process of breaking-up the German armed forces, known as "Operation Barleycorn", has begun. The troops are demobbed and careful records kept, then they are stripped of all insignia before getting civilian identity papers. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Germans in lorries. Lorries of German troops, along road, pass camera. Disembark at demobbing centre. Checking passes and identification papers etc. Taking fingerprints. Germans stripped of insignia and rank from shoulders, hats, etc. Decorations thrown in heap on ground. Dispersing - on lorries and on the road. Shots of them working on the land, cutting and gathering barley.
