MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Trailer: "Post War Road Safety". SHOTLIST: CU car windscreen with words ‘stored for the duration’ on and then wiped away. MS car from drive. MS car along road. CU driver and passenger, driver says "Oh that’s all right, a pleasure". Passenger says "Had an accident in my car yesterday, first day out too. I was going along a main road just like this one, as a matter of fact full of children (POV through windscreen of cyclists) cyclists, old people, plenty of traffic". CU Driver, POV cars and bus on road, "There was another car ahead of me, just where that one is now" (MS passenger points) "Old Man" (CU driver) "after changing my mind several times about passing him I finally decided to have a crack at it. I was alright, at least to me, that I saw a lorry coming round the bend towards me. I couldn’t decide quickly what to do so I tried to brake and then what do you think happened! Nothing! I had forgotten the brakes were out of order when I put the car away five years ago. So I had to accelerate and swerve round the car and then I noticed old Jim’s missus and kid were on the pavement. Well I managed to miss them but only by wrapping the old bus round a lamp-post". CU Driver saying "good heavens old boy you might have been killed". Pan to empty seat and passenger saying "I was". Speech over shots of passenger talking and CUs driver’s perspiring face. KEEP DEATH OFF THE ROADS.
