- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Tragedy in Siam - Murder, Suicide?. DESCRIPTION: King Ananda Mahidol has been found dead, shot with his own gun, was it an accident, suicide or murder? He has been succeeded by his younger brother Prince Bhumibol. SHOTLIST: KS GV pagoda. Various shots of the city, including GV of Royal Palace. Flag flies over room where King Ananda was killed. Interior - police look at revolver which killed King Ananda. New King, Rama the Ninth, approaches shrine. MS doors of shrine opening. King enters, interior shots of shrine and altar, shows gold coffin above altar in which King Ananda lies. SCU-SV of new King. King leaves shrine. Buddhist monks escort the new King in mourning.
