MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Monty in Canada. DESCRIPTION: Field Marshal Lord Montgomery received a warm welcome in Canada. In Ottawa he laid a wreath to Canada’s fallen. In Montreal he had received an Honorary Degree at McGill University. SHOTLIST: KS Monty and Mackenzie King stand acknowledging crowds as they drive through street. In Ottawa, Monty with Mackenzie King alight from car, Monty in uniform. MS Monty saluting crowds from balcony. GVs of crowds. Monty inspects war veterans. Monty drives through crowds in open car. Lays wreath on memorial, GV of memorial. Monty mingles with Canadian Mounted Police (Mounties). At McGill University, Montreal speaking about the war after receiving the Honorary Degree, dressed in mortar board and gown. CU of him speaking.
