- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Arctic Weather Grips Britain. DESCRIPTION: More snow and freezing conditions have blocked roads around the country. At Grantham part of the station roof collapsed under the weight of snow. America has suffered too, in Milwaukee they have experienced the worst blizzards for twenty four years. SHOTLIST: KS CU icicles on roof, guttering. Several shots of road between Grantham and Stamford, Lincolnshire, shows bulldozers clearing the ice, workmen chipping the ice. Railway engines being dug out. Flying Scotsman passing through Grantham Station. GVs and SCU of wrecked station roof, after it fell through due to the heavy weight of snow. SCU power lines covered in snow and ice. In Milwaukee, USA, several shots of snowdrifts, cars snowed under, snow ploughs going through streets, cars being dug out. Various shots of busy cross roads at standstill, jeep passing through small way cleared for traffic.
