- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: First British Troops Leave India. DESCRIPTION: The first British troops leave India and were bid farewell at Bombay by the new Governor General, Lord Mountbatten. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS GV quayside shows ship alongside. Various shots of India Services (all three) form Guard of Honour, Lord Louis (in rain) inspects same. Lord Louis addresses British troops alongside ship, troops stand around him (silent). Troops embark going up gangway. SV and out of camera. Lord and Lady Louis aboard SS Georgic, on the bridge. Various shots of troops all over the ship. Shots of including back views of Lady and Lord Louis waving to troops as ship pulls away. Music played Auld Lang Syne. The troops are 2nd Battalion Royal Norfolks plus RAF personnel.
