MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Centenary of California Gold Rush. DESCRIPTION: Descendants of the miners who discovered gold in California in 1848, reconstruct the methods they used. SHOTLIST: KS GV main street. Men in period dress, sort in water for gold. Pony walks round and round in circle, pulling primitive machinery. SCU very old fashioned type of machine working. Men sort amongst water passing along a trough. Cut-in Hangman’s signpost outside public house. Men drink beer from gold pans. Several shots of gold nuggets being dropped out of bag. CU gold nugget being held in hand.
