Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Blizzard Comes to Britain. DESCRIPTION: Snow blizzards strike the south of England badly affecting roads, but bring sun for winter sports enthusiasts. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS MS trees covered with snow, one bent almost in two. Trucking shot from inside car travelling through snowstorm, traffic in front misty. Several shots (this is at Wrotham) cars and coaches being dug out, SCU wheel revolving fast, cars not moving. Snow falling. At Hampstead Heath, skiers skiing, people tobogganing. GV of same. Skiers fall over. People snowballing one another. On Sussex Downs, skiers make their way through 3ft snowdrifts, past 30 mph signpost. Several shots snow-plough on Devil’s Dyke Road, clearing snow, into and past camera. On Brighton beach, four people walk towards sea, over snow covered beach. Undressing on beach. Shots of them walking into water and swimming.
