MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Amsterdam Dresses Up. DESCRIPTION: AMSTERDAM DRESSES UP - Amsterdam is being illuminated for the forthcoming festivities of Queen Wilhelmina’s Golden Jubilee and the crowning of Queen Juliana. WORLD CHURCH ASSEMBLY - The World Council of Churches has opened in Amsterdam with a service at the Niewkerk. SHOTLIST: KS MS New Church. Pan from bridge of canal, decorations on same, bridge decorated. High elevated pan of city, from top of church, workmen placing electric light bulbs in position on top of churches. GV New Church. Interior - World Church Assembly Procession of Protestants to hymn ‘All People That on Earth do dwell’. MS Dignitaries, left to right, Dr Gravenmeyer (Holland), Dr Fisher, Dr Boegner (Swiss), Archbishop Eidem (Sweden), SCU Archbishop Germanos of Greece and Reverend D Niles (Ceylon). Pan of church to American Dr John Mott in pulpit reading sermon. Cut-in congregation. SCU Archbishop of Canterbury reading prayers.
