Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: American Combined Amphibious Exercises. DESCRIPTION: A combined exercise by the American Army, Navy and Air Force, makes amphibious landing. SHOTLIST: KS GV ships laying smoke screen. Semi into camera - ships line ahead, all laying smoke. MS stern of ship, shows smoke pouring from same. MS frogmen falling off side of LCI into water. GV beach with defences, pillboxes etc. Frogmen lays dynamite. GV defences blowing up. Troops scale down nets over side of ships. LCI craft making for the shore approach camera. LCT launched from deck of ship. Same hitting water. Several GVs of naval ships firing guns. LCT make the beach, troops rush off along beach. Troops off LCT into camera. Troops off LCTs, out of camera, beach in background. Helicopter hovers over beach & passenger gets off same. Various general views of activity during landing of troops. Guns set up, artillery firing. MS flame throwers going into action.
